Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond hair and an ebullient persona, shows how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality in your home with simple techniques. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She also has studied Italy's culinary tradition and the culture of Italy, and the surrounding geography. Growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for food and cooking early on. Following her graduation with an English and Communication degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the industry of restaurants by registering in The Culinary Institute of America. I loved every minute that I was a student of The Culinary Institute of America she says. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was a fantastic opportunity to pursue a degree. After graduation, chef Burrell was able to spend a full period of time in Italy attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy she gained an appreciation and knowledge of Italian cuisine. It had a significant impact on how she views food. Burrell is a well-known ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids with disabilities. She frequently travels around the nation in her capacity as both a mentor and guest speaker where she discusses her career and love of cooking. Anne in all her culinary journey has stated that it's an honor to be in a position to share her passion for the food industry with people.
