  Naomi Ellen Watts, born 28 September 1968 was a British actress from the UK. She made her debut in film in Australia in For Love Alone (1986), followed by three television shows: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and Flirting (1991). After moving to the United States, Watts initially was a struggle as an actress acting in small-scale film until she was a part of David Lynch's psychological thriller Mulholland Drive in 2001 as an aspiring actress. This role started her rise to international prominence. Watts played the role of a depressed journalist in The Ring, a horror film that was made into a remake. Her performance as an emotional mother in Alejandro's 21 Grams (2003) was nominated for an Academy Award. Her fame grew with her leading parts in I Heart Huckabees (2004), King Kong (2005), Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009).
