Alona Tal

Alona Tal, an Israeli-American singer and actress was born on the 20th of October 20th, 1983, in Herzliya, Israel. She began her career while she was in the Israeli Defense Forces. In 2003, she was a star in an Israeli movie. This was her major break. In addition to her roles in Israeli films, she composed several songs with Subliminal. Tal relocated with her sister to New York in order to get a break from her work. In the hit song "Party to Damascus" she was part of a collaboration with Wyclef Jean from Haiti. She also made a name for herself in American television, with a regular role on the series Veronica Mars: She originally tried out for the lead role but the show's the creator Rob Thomas wrote a new character specifically for her. Later, Tal was offered a regular role in the CBS series. He was a part of two TV shows in Israel before changing to New York. Wyclef Jean was her singing partner. Hebrew is her first language. The second place award for the character as Veronica Mars (2004). She was auditioned for the role and was Rob Thomas' second choice. Thomas loved her so much that he decided to make the recurring role Meg Manning for her. Served in The Israel Defense Forces. Both her parents are Jewish--her father is Turkish/Jewish and her mother is Polish/Jewish. She plays the role of Adrian Monk's daughter in the show's final episode. Her father is Turkish/Jewish.
